چکیده

The activated carbon was prepared from fast precarbonization of reed lignin in the fluidized-bed followed by K2CO3 activation. The impregnation ratio was = 1:1 in this research. The effect of activation temperature upon the BET specific surface area and specific pore volume of the carbon was closely investigated. Increasing activation temperature led to an opening and widening of the porous structure below 800 "C. Above 800 "C, the excess widening of pore led to the decrease of BET surface area and micropore volume. The BET specific surface area and specific pore volume of the carbon activated at 800 "C were s = 1217 m2 g–1 and v = 0.65 ml g–1, respectively. The potential application of the carbon activated at 800 "C for removal of pollutants was also investigated. The Langmuir monolayer adsorption capacity qm of this activated carbon of adsorbing phenol, nitrobenzene, and Cr (VI) can reach 136.2, 393.7 and 52.6 mg g–1, respectively. The experimental results showed that it had good adsorption capacity.

Removal of water pollutants with activated carbons prepared from H3PO4 activation of lignin from kraft black liquors.

Activated carbons with a high BET surface area and a well-developed porosity have been prepared from pyrolysis of H3PO4-impregnated lignin precipitated from kraft black liquors. Impregnation ratios within the range of 1-3 and activation temperatures of 623-873 K have been used, giving rise to carbons with different porous and surface chemical structure. Increasing the activation temperature and...

Preparation and Characterization of K2CO3-Activated Kraft Lignin Carbon

A series of activated carbons (ACs) were prepared by K2CO3 activation from kraft lignin (KL) that was recovered from papermaking black liquor. The effects of process parameters such as the activation temperature (AT), activated period, K2CO3 to KL mass ratio, and N2 flow rate on the characteristics of the final product were determined. The ACs were characterized using nitrogen adsorption, morph...

Background and Objectives: The disposal of waste tires has become an increasingly important issue worldwide in recent years. Tires not only take up large amounts of valuable landfill space, but also create fire hazards and provide a refuge for disease- carrying creatures.
